Post-doc position in Software Engineering

Context of work:

The ESA project (Event Staging Association) involves both two industrial 
partners, IITER and A5SYS, and an academic partner, LINA 
(www.lina.univ-nantes.fr/) around a research project globally estimated 
at 15 man/year. The project obtained successfully the French “Pôle Image 
& Réseaux” label. It aims to develop an innovative technology leaning on 
Change Data Capture, Event-Driven Business Process Management and 
Complex Event Processing. The developed middleware will be the core 
support for future developed solutions in the domains of Enterprise 
Application Integration, Real-Time Business Intelligence, Enterprise 
Information Portal, Master Data Management and Operational Data 
Replication. The candidate will work and be in contact with French 
spoken people.

Candidate profile:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The candidate should have a PhD in computer sciences with a strong 
background in software engineering. More precisely, the candidate must 
have an excellent knowledge on XML, XSD, object-oriented design, 
object-oriented programming, object-relational mapping and must have a 
good abstraction skill. In addition, the candidate must have a very good 
knowledge on BPM (Business Process Management) and ESB (Enterprise 
Service Bus). Knowledge on rules engine (like drules, jrules…) will be 
highly appreciated.

In addition, for an important objective of international expansion, good 
communication and writing skills in English are required. The candidate 
will work in a collaborative environment with a strong commitment to 
achieving research excellence. The candidate is expected to have a good 
academic record (experience and publications), be curious, creative and 
ambitious and should also have affinity to research with an industrial 
focus, be a team player, open-minded and actively participate in 
knowledge sharing.

Conditions of employment

Application deadline is 15th of July 2010. The position will commence on 
October 2010. The offered salary is up to a maximum of € 2800 gross per 
month for a full-time job, depending on the level of appointment, 
qualifications and work experience. The appointment is on a temporary 
basis for a period of one year.

The position is situated in Nantes, an important and pleasant town in 
the North-West of France and the University of Nantes offers helpful 
environment for non-French applicants.
