The Computer and Languages Group at the Institute of Computer
Languages of the Vienna University of Technology offers a 6 year
position (with research and teaching obligations) for a junior faculty
member (Univ.Ass.) with a PhD in computer science or a related field.

The successful candidate will have a record of successful research in
some of the primary research fields of the compilers and languages'
group (http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/english). They will also have
a goal of further developing their program of scholarly resarch and
completing the postdoctoral habilitation.  Possible research fields
include compiler analysis, compiler optimization and compiler
verification, program analysis and program verification, resource
analysis, code generation, in particular also for embedded and
autonomous systems and modern heterogeneous multicore architectures
with accelerators (CPUs/GPUs), virtual machines and interpreters. The
candidate shall have an excellent scientific standing, usually
demonstrated by an outstanding dissertation and relevant publications,
ideally including one or more publications at international top
conferences or journals, e.g., ACM or IEEE. International experience
and experience with scientific projects (acquisition, administration,
and scientific processing), are advantageous. 

Besides the usual application documents (CV, scientific background and
development, list of publications and teaching experience,
credentials) the application shall be accompanied by a letter of
motivation (approx. 1-2 pages) and a description of the previous and
planned future scientific research (approx. 2-3 pages).
