Dear colleague,
INRIA Grenoble organizes the fourth winter school on Hot Topics in Distributed Computing (HTDC 2011). This winter school will take place in La Plagne, in the French Alps, from March 20th to March 25th 2011.
HTDC 2011 will feature a series of talks by renowned researchers in distributed computing, from both a theoretical and a practical perspective.
This year's topics will include theory of distributed computing, networked systems, operating systems, multi-core computing, cryptography, data management, and computer architecture.
Speakers:
- Serge Abiteboul, INRIA
- Shafi Goldwasser, MIT and Weizmann Institute of Science
- Luis Rodrigues, INESC-ID
- Pablo Rodriguez, Telefonica Research
- Timothy Roscoe, ETH Zürich
- André Seznec, INRIA
- Nir Shavit, Tel Aviv University & Oracle
PhD students will have the opportunity to get feedback on their work. Students are invited to submit a 1-page abstract motivating the main research challenge they are addressing and stating the approach being taken. A selection of proposals will be chosen for presentation. To submit an abstract, please send an email to vivien.quema at inrialpes.fr
Web site: http://htdc2011.inrialpes.fr/
The three last editions of the school were fully booked (HTDC 2008, HTDC 2009 and HTDC 2010) and we recommend early registrations.
School steering committee:
- Lorenzo Alvisi, UT Austin
- Peter Druschel, MPI SWS
