SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES:
Cloud computing and “everything as a service” (software/platform/infrastructure/data as a service on the cloud) are being promoted as game-changing technologies for a cost-efficient, scalable and reliable service delivery. These paradigms are becoming more and more popular enabling flexible license payment schemas and moving management costs from consumers to service providers. However, it is far from proven that cloud computing and services in the cloud provide the expected benefits in flexibility and cost-savings. Several factors influence the success of the technologies such as the status of existing software and infrastructure, migration effort and cost, alignment with business strategy, the performance and cost of cloud platforms, and additional benefits or challenges of transition. Finally, the question of which projects are inherently better suited for the new paradigms has not yet been answered.
This workshop aims to bring the research communities and industry practitioners with experience on services and cloud computing to come together, share experiences and contribute to formulate a research agenda to tackle the questions of when and how to apply these paradigms, how to evaluate the success and what the challenges and pitfalls are.

WORKSHOP THEMES:
Topics of interest are, but not limited to:
- Reviews and comparison of technologies, software development methods and deployment models for cloud computing and services;
- Experiences from using technologies and software development methods for services and cloud computing;
- Models for evaluating the above paradigms from various viewpoints;
- Strategies and novel approaches for transition towards the above paradigms;
- The implications for software architecture, quality of service, security and other aspects for applications that are to be deployed in the clouds,
- Case studies and evidence or critical appraisals;
- Value analysis, cost and performance analysis of clouds or services in the cloud;
- Best practices and lessons learned;
- Evaluating standardization activities around cloud computing;
- Perspectives for future research based on experiences.

PAPER SUBMISSION:
Submitted papers must present original, non-published work of high quality. Only papers in English will be accepted. All papers will be reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee.
The workshop accepts both regular papers and short papers. Regular papers should not exceed 12 pages while short papers describing research in progress, challenges or research directions should not exceed 6 pages. Instructions for preparing the manuscript (in Word and Latex formats) are available at: Paper Template. Please use the format for Workshop Papers. Papers should be submitted electronically via the web-based submission system at: http://www.insticc.org/Primoris.

******************************************************
PUBLICATION:
All accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings book, under an ISBN reference and on CD-ROM.

******************************************************
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the workshop. If the registration fees are not received by April 8, 2011, the paper will not be published in the workshop proceedings book.
