Call For Papers
=====================================================================================
15th International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN '16)
April 11-14, 2016
Vienna, Austria
http://ipsn.acm.org/2016/
=====================================================================================
The International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN) is a leading annual forum on research in networked sensing and control, broadly defined. IPSN brings together researchers from academia, industry, and government to present and discuss recent advances in both theoretical and experimental research. Its scope includes signal and image processing, information and coding theory, databases and information management, distributed algorithms, networks and protocols, wireless communications, collaborative objects and the Internet of Things, machine learning, mobile and social sensing, and embedded systems design. Of special interest are contributions at the confluence of a multiple of these areas.
New: In addition to IPSN's traditional focus areas, IPSN 2016 is inaugurating a new track on the Internet of Things (IoT). The entire program committee is eligible to review any submitted paper, but in order to aid in reviewer selection, authors are encouraged to indicate in the submission site whether their submissions are related to the IoT track.
Like previous years, IPSN 2016 will continue its focus on algorithms, theory, and systems for information processing using networks of embedded, human-in-the-loop, or social sensors, as well as new hardware and software architectures, modeling, evaluation, deployment experiences, design methods, implementations, and tools for networked embedded sensor systems. Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
* Sensor data storage, retrieval, processing and machine learning
* Coding, compression and information theory
* Sensor tasking, control, decision making and actuation
* Theoretical foundation and fundamental bounds
* Network and system architectures and protocols
* Location, time, and other network services
* Programming models and languages and embedded software
* Modeling, simulation, measurement, and analysis tools
* Operating systems and runtime environments
* User interfaces for sensing applications and systems
* Innovative platforms and architectures, including cloud, mobile, participatory and social sensing
* Compelling applications ranging from wellbeing and health monitoring to environmental and urban (e.g. traffic / building) sensing, highlighting experiences, challenges, and comparisons of platforms and tools
IoT Track: This new track focuses on the unique aspects of creating novel applications and services that integrate embedded, mobile, and cloud resources in the context of physical spaces, machines, and other interconnected Things. Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
* Programming models for ensembles of interconnected Things
* Discovery, Coordination and Usability of Things and Services in IoT
* Trust, Security, Privacy, and Authentication in IoT
* Network, System, Device, and Service Architectures for IoT
* Dependability, adaptation, intermittency, and assembly in IoT
* Technical Assessment of emerging IoT standards
Submission Guidelines
Full papers must be at most 12 single-spaced 8.5" x 11" (letter) pages, including figures, tables, and references. New this year, we also solicit short papers (maximum six pages) containing interesting technical nuggets. Full papers may be accepted with the condition of converting them into short papers. More submission guidelines can be found at http://ipsn.acm.org/2016/. Submission site is at https://ipsn2016.cs.ox.ac.uk/.
