TWO FACULTY POSITIONS AT UNIVERSITE DU QUEBEC A MONTREAL
DEPARTEMENT D'INFORMATIQUE
The Departement d'Informatique of the Universite du Quebec a Montreal invites applications for two tenure-track positions, effective June 1rst, 2017, in:
· Software engineering (methods, tools, and languages for requirements, design, development, and evolution)
. Data science (storage, organization and processing of big data in distributed environments)
Applicants should hold a doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related field, have a potential/record of excellence in research, and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching. La langue d'instruction est le français.
The Computer Science faculty is active in many research areas, and hosts several research labs in theoretical computer science (LACIM, www.lacim.uqam.ca), a multidisplinary, multi-university lab on the engineering of internet applications (LATECE, www.latece.uqam.ca), knowledge management/intelligent tutoring systems (GEDAC,www.gedac.uqam.ca), hardware (microsystem) design and manufacturing (www.cofamic.uqam.ca), and others.
UQAM is one of the most progressive universities in North America, with a tradition of collegiality and excellence in research and teaching. UQAM is an urban campus, and the computer science department is located in a modern facility in the heart of the cultural and arts center of Montréal (http://placedesarts.com). Qualified candidates should send 1) a curriculum vitae, including the list of publications; 2) prints of (or links to) three selected publications; 3) a research statement (less than 4000 words); and 4) a teaching statement (less than 2000 words). They should also arrange to have three letters of reference sent directly by the referees to the Department Chair:
