Dear software developer or student,

this year, Simula, the world's first object-oriented programming
language, celebrates its 50 years anniversary!

To mark this event, the Department of Informatics at the University of
Oslo, in cooperation with the Norwegian computing center (NR) and the
Norwegian council for ICT, will, on the 27th September, 2017 arrange
an international symposium and celebration with talks by three
international top researchers as well as a panel session discussing
the inheritance from Simula and the way forward for object-oriented
programming.

I år fyller Simula, verdens første objektorienterte
programmeringsspråk, 50 år!

I den anledning arrangerer Institutt for informatikk ved Universitetet
i Oslo i samarbeid med Norsk regnesentral (NR) og Norsk fagråd for
informatikk den 27. september 2017 en feiring og et internasjonalt
fagseminar med foredrag av tre internasjonale topp-forskere og
dessuten en paneldebatt for å drøfte arven fra Simula og hvor
objektorientert programmering går videre.
