CALL FOR PAPERS
************************
The IEEE International Conference on Software Analysis, Evolution and
Reengineering (SANER) is the premier research conference on the theory and
practice of recovering information from existing software and systems. The
event explores methods to extract the many kinds of information that can be
recovered from software, software engineering documents, and systems
artifacts, and examines innovative ways of using this information in system
renewal and program understanding.
SANER promotes discussion and interaction among researchers and
practitioners about the development of maintainable systems, and the
improvement, evolution, migration, and reengineering of existing systems.
The venue also explores innovative methods of extraction for the many kinds
of information of interest to software developers and examines innovative
ways of using this information in system renewal and program understanding.
The 25th edition of SANER will be held at the University of Molise in
Campobasso (Italy) on March 20-23, 2018. The University of Molise counts 4
University campuses arranged across a beautiful region, over 10,000
students, 100+ PhD students and about 600 personnel, split among teaching
and non-teaching staff.
*** TRACKS AND TOPICS OF INTEREST ***
SANER will feature technical research paper sessions, workshops, an early
research achievement track, an industry paper track, and a tool
demonstration track. Still, for the first time SANER will dedicate a
special track on reproducibility studies and negative results, with the aim
of promoting the publication of results which fail to show an effect, yet
demonstrate the research paths that did not pay off. SANER will also
feature a journal first session, thus promoting the dissemination of
research results firstly published on journals like Journal of Systems and
Software (JSS) and Journal of Software: Evolution and Process (JSEP).
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
• Software Analysis, Parsing, and Fact Extraction
• Software Reverse Engineering and Reengineering
• Program Comprehension
• Software Evolution Analysis
• Software Architecture Recovery and Reverse Architecting
• Program Transformation and Refactoring
• Mining Software Repositories and Software Analytics
• Software Visualization
• Software Reconstruction and Migration
• Software Maintenance and Evolution
• Software Release Engineering
• Experience Reports related to all of the above topics
• Education related to all of the above topics
• Tools and Methods supporting all of the above topics
