Doctoral Consortium Submissions

The Doctoral Consortium (DC) provides an opportunity for PhD students to present their research goals as well as intermediate results and to discuss them with leading experts in the field as well as with peers.

Students will receive feedback on the quality of their presentation and on the proposed research itself. Students can be in intermediate or advanced stages of their research, but should not have completed their work yet, and should thus still be able to take feedback from the Consortium into account.

A submission consists of a short paper (max 4 pages ACM Extended Abstract Format[1]), and a free-form CV of the PhD candidate, using the PCS system[2] (EICS 2018 Doctoral Consortium venue will open by the end of March).

Accepted submissions will be published in the EICS proceedings.

• During the Doctoral Consortium session:
Accepted submissions will be distributed to all participants and to the members of the panel to allow them to prepare for a fruitful discussion during the DC session.
• During the conference:
Time slots are reserved for DC talks during the main EICS conference. DC students have thus the opportunity to present their work to all conference attendees. DC students also have the option to present a poster.

Additional information about how to prepare for the DC will be provided following acceptance.

DC participants will have their registration fee waived, and will get invited to a dinner in a restaurant during the conference.
The SIGCHI Student Travel Grant (SSTG) program (information available at http://eics.acm.org/2018/registration.html[3]) may also be of interest to help covering traveling expenses.

Submissions deadline: 17 April
Notifications: May 8
