CALL FOR PAPERS - DOCTORAL SYMPOSIUM
22nd Iberoamerican Conference on Software Engineering (CIbSE 2019)
La Habana, Cuba, April 22 - 26, 2019
http://www.cibsecuba2019.com
*****************************************************************************
CIbSE 2019 organizes a Doctoral Symposium Track (DS), aimed at
disseminating research-in-progress conducted by novice researchers. A board
of experts will discuss with the researchers to suggest new perspectives
and improvements to the PhD thesis.
The submitted research can address any of the CIbSE 2019 research topics.
We recommend, although it is not compulsory, that the research is at an
intermediate stage (~ 2nd year), so that experts’ suggestions could be
included in the PhD work.
IMPORTANT* **NEW** *DATES
Paper submission: February 15th, 2019
Notification: March 11th, 2019
Camera-Ready: March 25th, 2019
OUTLINE
The suggested paper structure is as follows:
• Introduce the field of research and identify the main challenges related
to it.
• Clearly formulate the research objectives, hypotheses or questions,
justifying why they were chosen.
• Outline the current knowledge of the problem domain, as well as the state
of existing solutions.
• Sketch the research methodology that is being applied.
• Introduce the proposed solution and the results achieved so far.
• State in what aspects the suggested solution is different or better as
compared to existing approaches.
• Indicate the outstanding issues and describe the next steps that are
planned.
• Provide a list of references.
Doctoral Symposium papers shall be authored by the doctoral candidate
exclusively (thus, the name of the supervisor should not be included). All
papers must be submitted in PDF format through EasyChair, using this link
https://easychair.org/my/conference.cgi?conf=cibse2019. Submissions must be
written in English, Portuguese, or Spanish. Moreover, the paper should not
exceed 8 pages, and it should be formatted according to the LNCS style.
The authors of accepted DS papers must register by the camera-ready
deadline. One registration corresponds to only one paper. Each author must
be registered for the conference and present their paper in person or it
will be excluded from the proceedings made available online by Curran
Associates (http://www.proceedings.com/), and later indexed by Scopus. If
an author has accepted papers in other tracks, it is possible to pay the
50% of the registration in the Doctoral Symposium, provided a full
registration is made in another track.
