An ultimate goal of mobile computing is to build useful applications and services that meet the needs of users. MobiCASE 2010, to be held in the heart of Silicon Valley, provides opportunities for researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry to present and discuss their work on mobile applications and service provisioning.

***

CALL FOR WORKSHOP PAPERS

There will be two workshops held in conjunction with MOBICASE 2010:

Mobile Security

To complement the topics of MobiCASE 2010, the Workshop on Mobile Security will bring together members of the research community and practitioners from industry to present novel results and approaches in the emerging area of mobile security, a topic at the intersection of wireless communications, mobile computing, and computer security.

Unlike mobile devices in the past, which were designed for the sole purpose of voice-based communication, today's phones are powerful devices that can communicate, compute, and sense. There are many emerging applications (e.g. mobile banking, mobile social networking, location navigation) associated with smartphones, mobile internet, and telecom infrastructures. Since mobile devices are always with us and they contain various sensitive data, the issues of security, privacy and trust become more and more important and challenging.

To read more about the Call for Workshop Papers, please visit http://wnss.sv.cmu.edu/wms

Important Dates

Paper submission deadline: 15 July 2010
Acceptance notification: 30 July 2010
Camera-ready papers due: 13 August 2010
Workshop date: 28 October 2010

Workshop Co-Chairs

Philippe Proust, Security Labs, Gemalto
Patrick Tague, Carnegie Mellon University
Yafei Yang, Qualcomm

Mobile Software Engineering

Mobile Software Engineering will bring together members of the research community and industrial practitioners to explore the challenges, issues and opportunities in a systematic approach to the engineering of mobile applications and systems.

As mobile phones and devices become more powerful, as cloud services and telecom infrastructure become richer, and as consumer expectations evolve, developers are faced with an array of challenges that affect how they should systematically build and deploy new applications and systems.

To read more about the Call for Workshop Papers, please visit http://mobicase.org/docs/mobile_se_workshop_2010.pdf

Important Dates

Position paper submission deadline: 24 July 2010
Acceptance notification: 30 July 2010
Position papers posted: 14 August 2010
Workshop date: 28 October 2010

Workshop Co-Chairs

Martin Griss, Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley
Ray Bareiss, Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley

***

CALL FOR DEMOS AND POSTERS

We seek proposals for live demonstrations that serve to disseminate advanced technologies and systems in mobile computing applications and services.
