Advanced composition technology enables </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">the creation and usage of powerful abstractions. Improved modularity yields </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">significant benefits in terms of reuse and separation of concerns.</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; min-height: 16px; "><br></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">By using of abstractions, as they are present in languages, middlewares, and </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">models, certain properties of a system are hidden (abstracted). This creates </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">the problem of comprehending the run-time behavior in terms of the used </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">abstractions and the properties that were abstracted away (e.g. debugging AO </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">programs, diagnosing violation of performance service-level agreements). To </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">encourage wider adoption of advanced modularity, tools are required to assist </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">developers in understanding the run-time behavior of complex composed systems. </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">This workshop aims to create a dialogue on the problem of program comprehension </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">and its relation to modularity in the wider context.</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; min-height: 16px; "><br></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">Workshop format</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; min-height: 16px; "><br></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">The CoCoS workshop will consist of a keynote talk, paper presentations and </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">interactive discussion sessions.</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; min-height: 16px; "><br></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">CoCoS aims to create lively discussions on various subjects and CoCoS </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">participant will have a great role in this regard. Every participant with an </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">accepted paper will have a half-hour time slot to present their work and answer </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">questions. Apart from that, every participant will prepare a short review of a </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">fellow participant's paper. The reviewer's responsibility is to summarize </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">his/her thoughts and suggestions on the presenter's work.</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">Along with the paper submission, participants are also asked to submit </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">discussion topics. The topics can include participants’ experiences, design or </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">implementation challenges, asking for opinion and anything that the </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Monaco; ">participants think are worth to be discussed.
