Collins, Colorado, USA</div><div><a href="http://aosd.net/2015/">http://aosd.net/2015/</a></div><div><br></div><div>*** CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS ***</div><div><br></div><div>Workshops are a good venue for students to get initial feedback on their first</div><div>research endeavors, and for more experienced researchers to brainstorm with</div><div>their peers about emerging topics in their field. Workshops are incubators for</div><div>research. In contrast to conference technical tracks, where presentations</div><div>dominate Q&A and interaction, workshops have the potential to foster</div><div>spontaneous in-depth discussions of emerging research topics in a focused</div><div>community. </div><div><br></div><div>We hereby solicit proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with the</div><div>main Modularity'15 conference. We encourage proposals on conference-related</div><div>topics that are novel or of emerging importance. We stress the importance of</div><div>active and creative workshops that promise to form a collaborative environment</div><div>of interest to both practitioners and researchers. Workshops can be full or</div><div>half day, and devoted to a specific topic of interest in the modularity domain</div><div>or in its neighborhood. Workshops should have a focused topic, provide</div><div>opportunity for lively discussion, and attract enthusiastic participants.</div><div><br></div><div>Workshop proposals will be judged on originality, relevance to Modularity'15,</div><div>expected level of interest in the topic, and the organizers ability to lead a</div><div>successful workshop.</div><div><br></div><div>Important Dates</div><div><br></div><div> Proposal submission: October 15, 2014</div><div> Notification: October 20, 2014</div><div> Workshop websites up: November 1, 2014</div><div><br></div><div>Important Dates for All Workshop Papers:</div><div><br></div><div> Workshop Paper submission deadline: January 12, 2015</div><div> Workshop Paper notification date: February 2, 2015</div><div> Workshop Paper camera-ready deadline: February 15, 2015</div><div><br></div><div>Submission Guidelines</div><div>A workshop proposal must be authored by at least two organizers, preferably</div><div>from different institutions, and should contain the following three sections:</div><div><br></div><div> About the Organizers</div><div> Name: Organizers' full names</div><div> Contact information: Affiliation, job title, postal address, email</div><div> address, URL, phone number, and fax number</div><div> Brief biography: 100-200 words, focusing on the organizers' expertise</div><div> in the field and experience as workshop organizers</div><div> Primary contact: Identify one organizer as the primary contact</div><div> About the Workshop</div><div> Title: Workshop title and acronym</div><div> Abstract: 150-200 words describing the workshop, suitable for the conference Web site and advance program</div><div> Topics and motivation</div><div> What are the topics, themes, and areas of interest of the workshop?</div><div> How is the workshop relevant to Modularity'15?</div><div> How does the workshop connect Modularity'15 to other research communities, if at all?</div><div> Goals and expected results</div><div> Explicitly state the goals of the workshop and how you intend to reach them.</div><div> What are the expected results of the workshop?</div><div> How will these results be disseminated?</div><div> Format</div><div> What is the planned workshop format and length?</div><div> What will be done to stimulate collaborative interaction?</div><div> What are the planned pre- and post-workshop activities?</div><div> Participants</div><div> What is the expected number of participants?</div><div> Explain why this workshop will attract a sufficient number of attendees.</div><div> Specify the participant selection process.</div><div> Previous workshops</div><div> Have there been previous workshops on the same topic?</div><div> When, where, and how many participants?</div><div> Required equipment: Overhead projector, PC projector, whiteboard, flip charts, microphone, etc.</div><div> </div><div>The conference organizers are negotiating with ACM to enable the inclusion of</div><div>the workshop papers in both the electronic conference proceedings and in the</div><div>ACM Digital Library. The inclusion of a workshop's proceedings in the digital</div><div>library is optional and is at the discretion of each workshop's organizers.</div><div>However, for consistency we suggest each workshop request papers to be</div><div>submitted in ACM formatting (sigplanconf style, 9pt font size) and use the</div><div>following dates for submissions to meet ACM's publication deadlines:</div><div><br></div><div> Workshop Paper submission deadline: January 26, 2015</div><div> Workshop Paper notification date: February 16, 2015</div><div> Workshop Paper camera-ready deadline: February 24, 2015</div><div><br></div><div>Note that the above requirements are for the actual workshop papers that are to</div><div>be published by ACM not the workshop proposals, and such dates are still</div><div>temporary. Workshop proposals should mention these paper formatting</div><div>requirements in the sample Call for Papers, and have compatible deadlines.</div><div> </div><div>Submission requirements</div><div>Proposals must be submitted in ASCII text or PDF format.</div><div> </div><div>To obtain a balanced and cohesive workshop program, the Conference Committee</div><div>will collaborate closely with workshop organizers and reserves the right to</div><div>circulate proposals to other submitters in view of possible workshop mergers.</div><div>The organizers of an accepted workshop will be required to create and maintain</div><div>a Web site in a timely manner to serve as a workshop information center and to</div><div>provide a repository for documenting pre- and post-workshop activities.</div><div>Recommended paper submission deadline and notification deadlines will be</div><div>notified here when available.</div><div> </div><div>How to submit</div><div>Workshop proposals must be sent via email to the Workshops Chair at</div><div><a href="mailto:workshops@aosd.net">workshops@aosd.net</a>, and must be received no later than Oct 15, 2014.</div><div>Notifications to submitters will be made no later than Oct 20, 2014. By Nov 1,</div><div>2014, workshop initial web sites should be set up and notified to the Workshops</div><div>Chair, and calls for papers should have been disseminated.</div><div> </div><div>Contact</div><div>For additional information feel free to contact the Workshops Chair:</div><div>Walter Cazzola, Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy</div><div><a href="mailto:workshops@aosd.net">workshops@aosd.net</a></div><div><br></div>-- <br>...............................................................................................................................<br>Henrique Rebelo<br><a href="http://www.cin.ufpe.br/~hemr">http://www.cin.ufpe.br/~hemr</a><br>Informatics Center, UFPE, Brazil
