We are specifically looking for a candidate with expertise in both practical as well as theoretical aspects of ground-breaking ‘software development environments’. The candidate has to be able to formalise the functionality of these environments, to prototype novel environments and to valorise research results in the context of relevant industrial development platforms. Keywords are static/dynamic analysis, symbolic execution, abstract interpretation, type inferencing and program slicing but also bug prediction, program transformation, bad smell detection, versioning, refactoring, change management, testing and software quality in general.<br><br>The candidate should fit into the research culture of the Software Languages Lab. This comprises of the complete research spectrum on software language engineering: design, formalising, implementation, tooling and applications. The candidate will by preference endorse the tradition of the Software Languages Lab to focus on interpreted languages with dynamic typing, reflection, actor-based parallelism, etc. The candidate holds a PhD. in Computer Science and has an excellent academic record with publications that show a connection to this complete spectrum. <br><br>The candidate will be included into the management structure of the Software Languages Lab and is expected to actively contribute to the operational aspects and to the further development of the lab. This implies the guidance of PhD and master students, but also starting new projects and applying for funding.<br><br>The teaching assignment will include both general courses on BA level as well as more specialized courses on MA level. The exact course list will be negotiated with the candidate and will depend on his/her expertise and language skills. The candidate must be able to teach in English immediately and is therefore required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at C1 level.
