QUATIC'2010 Thematic Track: Quality in Web Engineering

(http://www.fe.up.pt/quatic2010/quality_web_engineering)

Call for papers
The World Wide Web has become a major delivery platform for a variety of complex and sophisticated enterprise applications in several domains. In addition to their inherent multifaceted functionality, these web applications exhibit complex behavior and place some unique demands on their ubiquitous usability, performance, security and ability to grow and evolve. Web development can benefit from established practices from other related disciplines, but it has certain distinguishing characteristics, which are mainly due to its inherent multidisciplinary, encompassing contributions from diverse areas, such as systems analysis and design, software engineering, distributed systems, hypermedia/hypertext engineering, requirements engineering, human-computer interaction, user interface design, information engineering, information indexing and retrieval, testing and project management.
We seek novel contributions on how to leverage web-based systems quality with Web Engineering techniques, as well as how to induce quality assurance in the Web Engineering lifecycle itself. Suggested topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:
*	Non-functional quality requirements and their dependence on application domain
*	Quality aspects in cloud computing
*	Quality models for web services development and deployment
*	Quality attributes and measures for web applications
*	Quality in web engineering project management (cost estimation, risk management, measures, etc.)
*	Architectural and design patterns for web applications
*	Assessing the quality of web application models
*	Quality of web application development environments and case tools
*	Improving code generation for web applications
*	Automated evaluation of web sites quality (e.g. contents, structure and delivery channels)
*	Empirical studies in web engineering
*	Data quality in web
*	Web quality modeling
*	Web quality visualization
Paper submission
Authors should submit to http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=quatic2010 a PDF version of their paper. Papers must be in IEEE format and not exceed 6 pages, including figures, references, and appendices. Submissions must be original and will be reviewed by the Track Program Committee. Accepted papers will be published in the electronic IEEE proceedings of QUATIC'2010, subject to one of the authors registering for the conference. The authors of the 3 best papers of this thematic track will be invited to submit extended versions to the main track of the conference. More info on the QUATIC'2010 selection process and its tracks can be found at http://www.fe.up.pt/quatic2010.
