The FTRA 2nd International Workshop on Multimedia and Semantic Technologies (MUST'11) aims at high quality research contributions in multimedia semantic computing, with a focus on how to apply the semantic technologies to the acquisition, generation, storage, processing, and retrieval of large-scale multimedia information. A main goal of MUST is to address emerging research challenges in Semantic Multimedia and to help reducing the Semantic Gap between low-level content descriptions of multimedia and the semantics in high-level human interpretations of audiovisual media. Semantic Web and multimedia community researchers are encouraged to join the workshop to benefit from the presentation of results from multimedia based research, which demonstrate important multimedia applications which could be enhanced by Semantic Web technologies.
MUST'11 will be held in conjunction with MUE 2011, in Crete, Greece, 28-30 June 2011.

MUST'11 encourages a multidisciplinary perspective and welcomes papers that address challenges of multimedia in general or in the context of specific domains.
The selected outstanding papers will be published in the following Journals.

@ Multimedia Tools and Applications (MTAP) - Springer (SCIE)
@ International Journal of Information Technology, Communications and Convergence (IJITCC) - Inderscience
@ Journal of Convergence (JoC) - FTRA
@ Journal of Information Processing Systems (JIPS) - KIPS (KCIE)

Instructions for papers in the Springer's CCIS(Note that the paper format of CCIS is the same as that of LNCS)

- Prepare your paper in the exact format as the sample paper for CCIS. Failure to do so may result in the exclusion of your paper from the proceedings. Please read the authors' instructions carefully before preparing your papers.
- Springer accepts both Microsoft Word and LaTex format in the Lecture Note Series. However, FTRA does not accept the use of LaTex. Therefore, you should use the Microsoft Word instead of using LaTex (The paper will be excluded from the proceeding if you use LaTex).
