Experiences and Empirical Studies in Software Modelling (EESSMod)
Workshop at MODELS 2011; 16-21 October, Wellington, New Zealand
Workshop date 17 October 2011
http://www.eesmod.org
Important deadlines:
* Workshop paper abstract submission<http://ecs.victoria.ac.nz/Events/MODELS2011/ConferenceSubmission>: 7 August 2011
* Workshop paper submission<http://ecs.victoria.ac.nz/Events/MODELS2011/ConferenceSubmission>: 10 August 2011
* Author notification: 20 August 2011
* Camera ready paper: TBD
* Workshop date: 17 October 2011
This workshop aims to bring together professionals and researchers interested in software modelling to discuss in which way software modelling techniques may be evaluated, share experiences of performing such evaluations and discuss ideas for further research in this area. The workshop accepts both experience reports of applying software modelling in industry and research papers that describe more rigorous empirical studies performed in industry or academia.
Objectives
* Build a better understanding of the industrial use of modelling techniques, languages and tools.
* Start building theories about the effectiveness of modelling approaches.
* Identify directions for future research in the field.
* Facilitate and encourage joint research and experimentation in software modelling.
Intended audience:
Professionals and researchers interested in software modelling.
Submission:
Submissions should conform to the Springer LNCS format, (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html) and be no longer than 10 pages.
Submissions should be uploaded to the easychair conference managements system, using the following link:
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=eessmod2011
Workshop format:
The workshop will be a one day program consisting of half a day with short papers (20 minutes per paper), and half a day discussion on synthesis of existing results and directions for future/joint research. The workshop will try to attract a keynote by a recognised researcher in the field of Software Modelling/Empirical Software Engineering.
Publication:
A selection of papers from the workshop will most likely be published in a Workshop Reader as part of the LNCS series (Springer Verlag) (10 pages). All papers will be published electronically and distributed to all participants prior to the workshop.
Organisers:
* Michel Chaudron (University of Leiden, The Netherlands), chaudron(a)liacs.nl (primary contact)
* Marcela Genero, (University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain), marcela.genero(a)uclm.es
