SIGMETRICS/PERFORMANCE 2012 Call for Student Posters

SIGMETRICS/PERFORMANCE encourages students attending the conference to
submit 2-page poster proposals aimed at showcasing their
"work-in-progress" thesis research. The goal of the poster session is to
present students' research, provide an opportunity for informal
discussion and facilitate interaction with established researchers.
Student posters will be presented on Monday, June 11th.

The primary
author(s) of the poster must be a student. All the poster submissions
will be reviewed by a technical committee of established researchers in
the field. At the event, accepted posters must be presented by students.
Authors of accepted papers must not submit a poster of the work they
present in the conference or affiliated workshops. Topics of interest
include, but are not limited to analytical model, system/algorithm
design, and performance analysis/evaluation of:
• Computer and communication networks, protocols and
algorithms
• Wireless, mobile, ad-hoc, and sensor networks
• Computer architectures, multi-core processors, memory
systems and storage networks
• Operating systems, file systems and databases
• Virtualization and data centers
• Distributed and cloud computing
• Social networks, multimedia systems, service-oriented
architectures, and Web services
• Energy-efficient computing systems
• Real-time and fault-tolerant systems
• Mobile and personal computing systems
• Security systems and network attacks
• Large-scale operational systems
• Software systems and enterprise applications
• Emerging technologies

Both analytical and empirical studies are encouraged to submit to the
student poster session.

The best student poster will be selected by the student poster committee
based on:

1. Votes from the registered conference attendees (including student
attendees), and

2. Review comments given by the technical committee members
