Call for Nominations: ACM SIGSOFT Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award

***Nomination Deadline: March 1, 2012***
The SIGSOFT Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award will be presented
annually to the author of an outstanding doctoral dissertation in the area
of Software Engineering. The author of the winning dissertation will be
invited to publish a dissertation summary in the SIGSOFT newsletter,
Software Engineering Notes (SEN). The award will include an award plaque
for the author, which will be presented at the Foundations of Software
Engineering conference (FSE), and funding support for the recipient to
travel to FSE to receive the award (including a registration to FSE). A
public citation for the award dissertation will be placed on the SIGSOFT
web site.
***Eligibility***
The award is for an outstanding dissertation (in software engineering)
dated within one year preceding the nomination due date (i.e., dated
between March 1, 2011 and Feb 29, 2012). A nominee must be a SIGSOFT member
at the time of nomination.
***Important Dates***
Submission Deadline: March 1, 2012
Notification of Awards: August 1, 2012
Award Presentation at FSE 2012: 10-17 November 2012, Research Triangle
Park, NC, USA
***Submission Procedure***
A nomination should consist of the following items:
1. Name, address, phone number, and email address of the person making the
nomination (the nominator).
2. Name, address, phone number, and email address of the candidate for whom
an award is recommended (the nominee).
3. A short statement (200-500 words) explaining why the nominee deserves
the award in question.
4. Supporting statements from up to two people in addition to the nominator.
5. The nominated dissertation in an English language version.
6. A list of the nominee's publications that were used as the basis of
chapters in the nominated dissertation.
7. The CV of the nominee.
Nominations should be submitted as a zip file including the preceding items
via Easychair (
