CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
The ACM Cloud and Autonomic Computing Conference (CAC 2013)
http://acm-cac2013.cis.fiu.edu/
Miami Beach, Florida, USA, July 29-August 2, 2013
The ACM Cloud and Autonomic Computing Conference (CAC 2013) will be held at Miami Beach, Florida, USA, July 29-August 2, 2013. The organizers of CAC 2013 call for proposals for workshops to be held with CAC 2013. The workshops will run on July 29 (tentatively), preceding the main conference. The workshops aim to explore special topics or emerging research themes and provide international forums for scientists and engineers to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results.
Submission Guidelines and Publication:
Organizers may structure workshops as they see fit, possibly including invited talks, panel discussions, presentations of work in progress, fully peer-reviewed papers, or some combination. Workshops could be scheduled for a half day or a full day, depending on interest, space constraints, and organizer preference. Organizers should design workshops for approximately 20-40 participants, to balance impact and effective discussion. The proceedings of the workshops program will be published, as the CAC 2013 main conference, by ACM.
Please send a workshop proposal to the CAC 2013 Workshops Chair, Xiaolin (Andy) Li, at andyli at ece.ufl.edu. Please do not hesitate to send emails to the workshops chair if you have any questions.
The workshop proposal should include following information:
The complete title and acronym of the proposed workshop
A description (0.5-1 page) of the theme of the workshop
A description (one paragraph) of the relation between the theme of the workshop and of CAC
A list of topics of interest
Workshop organizer(s): name, affiliation, address, e-mail, with the indication of the main contact person
Short bio of the main workshop organizers
Draft Call for paper of the workshop with tentative list of program committee members if available
Data about previous offerings of the workshop (if any), including the attendance, the numbers of papers or
presentations submitted and accepted, and the links to the corresponding websites
A publicity plan for attracting submissions and attendees
Each workshop will start to distribute a call for paper after receiving the approval notification. Papers submitted to each workshop should be original, and, be peer reviewed by the program committee and external reviewers of the workshop (if available). An accepted paper must be registered and presented at the conference venue and must be limited to 8 pages in standard ACM camera-ready format (double-column, 10-pt font).
Due to publication deadlines, workshops should operate within roughly the following timeline: papers due April 5th, notification by May 5th, and final paper due by May 15th, 2013.
