The Pervasive Interaction Technology Laboratory (pit.itu.dk<http://pit.itu.dk>) at the IT University of Copenhagen (www.it.edu<http://www.it.edu>),
Denmark, invites applications for a 2-year full-time postdoctoral research position in the areas of computer
supported cooperative work (CSCW) and software engineering (SE) from August 2013 or as soon as possible
thereafter.
QUALIFICATION
=============
The candidate must obtain his/her PhD degree before joining the IT University of Copenhagen and should have
adequate CSCW or SE research experience demonstrated through publications in top-tier international conferences
and reputed journals. Experience in software engineering, computer science, research project management and
industry collaboration, as well as good verbal and written skills in English are required.
RESEARCH AREAS
==============
The candidate is expected to pursue research on various aspects of CSCW and SE. The position is associated
with the Next Generation Technology for Global Software Development (NeXGSD) project (www.nexgsd.org<http://www.nexgsd.org>). This
project aims at providing knowledge and tools for organizations to excel in software development on a global
scale. The overall aim of this project is to understand and improve GSD practices and technologies both on a
practical/industrial level as well as on a scientific level.
Special areas of research includes: studies of challenges and opportunities in distributed work; design of
user interfaces and technologies for supporting globally distributed work; interactive technology for
video meeting support; tool support for distributed software engineering; and data visualization of software
engineering artefacts. A strong background in computer science and/or software engineering are required.
The candidate will be responsible for conducting research in various global software development (GSD) application
domains and work closely with the industrial partners in the project. Frequent travel activity must be expected.
