Call for Papers
1st Workshop on Requirements Engineering for Self-adaptive and Autonomous Systems (RESA) in REFSQ 2014
https://sites.google.com/site/resaworkshop/home
The RESA workshop will look at the research issues related to software systems that are aware and even reason about their requirements and goals at runtime. Such capabilities would bring benefits not just for the case of self-adaptive and autonomous systems but would also help in the development of self-explaining systems, and in testing and debugging. In particular, the workshop aims to:
- Combine research ideas from requirements engineering, requirements monitoring, computational reflection, model-driven engineering, and self-adaptive, autonomic, and self-aware systems.
- Provide a "state-of-the-research" assessment expressed in terms of research issues, challenges, and achievements. This assessment can be used to guide research in the area for both academia and industry.
- Build a network of researchers in RE for Self-adaptive Systems.
- Plan and promote further events on this emerging area.
RESA'14 will be held in Essen, Germany, as one of the workshops of the 20th International Working Conference on Requirements Engineering: Foundation for Software Quality (REFSQ 2014).
Important Dates
Submission deadline: January 15, 2014
Author Notification: February 15, 2014
Camera Ready Copy: March 12, 2014
Workshop: April 7th, 2014
List of topics
The research topics we will aim to discuss include:
- Representation of Runtime Requirements for Self-adaptive and Autonomous Systems
- Reasoning over Runtime Requirements
- Requirements-awareness
- The Role of Uncertainty
- Computational Reflection and Runtime Requirements
- The relationships between requirements models at different phases of the SE lifecycle
- The relationship of Runtime Requirements to other SE phases (architecture/design/testing)
- Runtime Requirements’ traceability
- Methodologies incorporating requirements-awareness and runtime requirements
- Requirements monitoring
- Diagnosis of Failed Requirements (including self-explaining systems)
Publications and Format of Papers
The RESA 2014 proceedings will be published in CEUR-WS (www.ceur-ws.org).
Submissions should be in PDF, on A4 page size and formatted in LNCS style. See Springer’s Information for LNCS Authors for details (notice that for the submission, only the instructions about the layout of the paper itself are relevant – the copyright form etc. is only needed for the camera-ready version, in the event of your paper’s acceptance).
We invite original submissions as either full papers (13-15 pages) and short/position/vision papers (6-8 pages).
Submissions
Papers should be submitted using EasyChair at https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=resa2014
Selection process
The selection of papers will be based on their relevance to the workshop, research rigour, innovation, potential for industrial applicability, and quality of writing. Each paper will be reviewed by at least three (3) reviewers, and authors will be notified about acceptance before the REFSQ 2014 early registration deadline.
The workshop co-chairs will not submit papers of their own.
