The Laboratoire de Recherche sur les Technologies du Commerce 
Électronique (www.latece.uqam.ca <http://www.latece.uqam.ca/>) is 
seeking candidates for a one-year post-doctoral research position, 
starting January 1st, 2015, renewable, subject to fund availability. The 
selected candidate will be offered a competitive salary and benefits. 
Winter 2015 start date is preferred, though the chosen candidate can 
begin immediately.

The candidate will work on various projects related to the software 
architecture of service and cloud oriented applications, including, 1) 
various aspects related to the migration of legacy web applications to 
an SOA (e.g. service identification, service packaging, refactoring), 2) 
quality engineering, and re-engineering of service and cloud oriented 
applications (QoS metrics, identification of SOA and cloud patterns and 
anti-patterns, refactoring of existing SOA applications, reconfiguration 
of Cloud systems).

The ideal candidate:
A) has a recent (since 2013) PhD in computer science, software 
engineering, or a related field,
B) has developed expertise in
   1) distributed software architectures (SOA-specific expertise is a 
plus),
   2) static code analysis (issues and tools),
   3) architectural, design, coding, and execution patterns and 
anti-patterns,
   4) model transformation
C) has working knowledge of:
   1) common web application development frameworks
   2) common open-source SOA development and execution frameworks
D) Good writing skills
E) A promising publication record.

The LATECE laboratory is part of the Faculté des Sciences (Sciences 
College) of the Université du Québec à Montréal. It is located at the 
heart of Montreal 's 'quartier des spectacles', a sector of downtown 
Montréal home to its center for performing arts (Place des Arts), Maison 
Symphonique, The Museum for Modern Art (MAM), Place des Festivals 
(festival esplanade), and  a number of theatres, cafés, bistros, and 
restaurants. The Faculté des Sciences is within walking distance of 
Vieux (Old) Montreal, Quartier Latin, Crescent street, and the Main 
(Saint-Laurent Boulevard), the hub of Montreal's nightlife. Montréal is 
a vibrant multi-cultural metropolis boasting a unique blend of european 
and north american influences, and a lively mix of french and 
anglo-saxon cultures, with plenty of opportunities to wine, dine, and

over 200,000 students attending the four major universities (UQAM, 
McGill, Université de Montréal, Concordia), along with major engineering 
and business schools (ETS, Poly, HEC Montreal), graduate schools (e.g. 
INRS, Institut Armand Frappier), and research centers (CRIM, CRIQ, 
CRIAQ, etc.).
