The LATECE research lab (www.latece.uqam.ca) has one postdoctoral position and three PhD student positions in a newly funded three-year project on architectural migration of legacy applications, and more specifically, the migration of (recent) legacy web-applications to SOA. The ideal candidate will be:A) a developer/hacker at heart, who is familiar with: 1) web application development principles, in general (architectures, patterns, etc.), and some/common development frameworks, 2) static and dynamic code analysis theory and practice/tools, and 3) SOA-related tools/middleware (jax-???, ws-???, ESBs, etc.). (POSTDOC and PHD students requirement)
B) a competent (potential) researcher, who 1) knows the difference between a hypothesis, a hunch, and a proof,  2) has good oral and written communication skills in French or English, and 3) does not mind putting those to good use (mostly POSTDOC requirement), andC) an effective coach, bringing up to speed the doctoral students who will work on the project (POSTDOC requirement).We offer a stimulating & fun work environment, a competitive compensation package, and a great city (Montréal - Canada, http://www.tourisme-montreal.org) to live, work, and play.
