Iowa State University (ISU), Department of Computer Science is seeking to fill 25 Ph.D. positions, including four Presidential Fellows, starting Fall 2017 as part of a new strategic initiative.
The ISU Department of Computer Science (CS) is a research-intensive department, where faculty members are currently conducting $16M of funded research projects in a variety of fields. Areas of interest include: Applied Cryptography, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Concurrency, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Data Science, Database Systems, Formal Methods, High Performance Computing, Machine Learning, Model Checking, Molecular Biology, Operating Systems, Parallel and Distributed Computing, Programming Languages and Compilers, Program Analysis, Robotics, Smart Home, Software Engineering, Theory of Computation, Wireless Networks. ISU CS faculty members are leaders in a number of these areas. The CS graduate student body is highly diverse, and all students are supported by assistantships and fellowships or by work-study appointments.
