Information Systems Engineering in Industry: Applications and Projects.
The CAiSE’2016 industry track is aimed to complement the main conference
with a dedicated area for practitioners and academics who are interested
in transforming research results into practice. The industry track
focusses on results of applied research and industrial projects.
Emerging technologies in areas like Internet of Things, Factories of the
Future, Industry 4.0, or Cyber-Physical Systems challenge the
information systems engineering discipline in many ways. Moreover, the
need to adopt forthcoming paradigms like micro-service architectures,
web development and service-oriented business models motivates a more
practical-oriented admission to information systems engineering
research, enabling its industrial adoption. Hence, the idea of the
industry track is to bring together researchers and practitioners in
order to discuss experiences and evaluate results towards a broader
understanding of upcoming needs in information systems engineering. We
welcome contributions from industry that capture innovative applications
of all areas of information systems engineering.
The structure of this year’s CAiSE industry track consists of
presentations, accomplished by an industrial panel discussion and a
keynote session. The track is open to practitioners as well as
researchers with a clear contribution to practice. The industry track
also puts emphasis on contributions from industrial partners within EU
projects. We anticipate relevant contributions from any private or
public domain highlighting implications on business models, technology,
organization and results. Submissions describing the outcomes of such
projects with a strong focus on its contribution by means of practical
application and/or industry adoption are appreciated. The industry track
is open for any industrial application domain.
———————————————————————
Targeted audience
- Business professionals and academics wanting to understand and
influence the practical applications of the discussed technologies.
- EU/industry project members who want to learn about other projects or
want to get in touch with colleagues in order to elaborate on common
interests and possible future collaborations.
- Researchers interested in requirements on information systems
engineering stemming from industry

Contributions
Industry track papers should be submitted in PDF format. They should be
between 8 and 15 pages in LNCS format. Only the final accepted paper is
obliged to follow this format. The submitted papers must be unpublished
and must not be under review elsewhere. Papers will be reviewed relative
to relevance to the industry track topic, presentation quality, and
contribution to practice. Submission should be made through the
conference management system available
at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=caise_2016_associated_tracks
The accepted papers will be included in the special proceedings issue
titled “CAiSE 2016 Industry Track”, which will be published by CEUR. It
is required that one of the authors participates and presents the papers
at the industry track.
