Introduction:

Developing a smart city to better support growing urban population is
a global and complex challenge and involve interdisciplinary fields. A
smart city uses digital technologies to enhance performance and
wellbeing, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to connect
its communities and engage more effectively and actively with its
citizens. Key 'smart' sectors include transportation, cloud computing,
networking, smart building, energy, health care, and water systems. A
smart city should be able to respond faster to city and global
challenges than one with a simple 'transactional' relationship with
its citizens.

IEEE SmartCity 2017 is aiming to be a premier international conference
in smart city. This symposium is to bring together computer
scientists, industrial engineers and researchers to discuss and
exchange experimental or theoretical results, novel designs,
work-in-progress, experience, case studies, and trend- setting ideas
in the area of smart city include all aspects of smart city with
emphasis on algorithms, systems, models, architectures, tools, design
methodologies, test and applications.

Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

Smart Buildings
Smart Transportation
Smart and connected Communities
E-health Systems
Green Network and Energy Efficiency
Smart Grid
Environment and Urban Monitoring
Big Data for Urban Informatics
Embedded Computing and fog computing for Smart Cities
Application Scenarios and Real-world
Deployments for Smart Cities
Internet of Things for Smart Cities
Cloud Computing and Network Infrastructure for Smart Cities
Smart Water System
Social Computing and Networks for Smart Cities
Smart University and Smart Education

Submission Guidelines

Submissions must include an abstract, keywords, the e-mail address of
the corresponding author and should not exceed 8 pages for main
conference, including tables and figures in IEEE format. The template
files for LATEX or WORD can be downloaded here. All paper submissions
must represent original and unpublished work. Each submission will be
peer reviewed by at least three program committee members. Submission
of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper
be accepted, at least one of the authors will register for the
conference and present the work. Submit your paper(s) in PDF file at
the submission site:http://hpcl.seas.gwu.edu/smartcity2017/submission.html
