SCOPE
Research in the area of Search-Based Software Engineering (SBSE) has flourished
in the last years. This Summer School aims to present current research in
different topics of SBSE research organized in a series of exciting keynotes,
talks and seminars followed by questions and debate. This Summer School is open
to participants from both Academy and Industry all around the world. We
particularly encourage graduates and postgraduates (especially, PhD students),
as well as researchers and professionals interested in SBSE to join us and
participate in the event.
The Second International Summer School on Search-Based Software Engineering
(SS-SBSE 2017) [https://ss-sbse2017.uma.es] is supported by SEBASENet
[https://www.uco.es/SEBASENet] (the Spanish Excellence Network on Search-Based
Software Engineering), SISTEDES [http://www.sistedes.es] (Spanish Society of
Software Engineering and Software Development Technologies), and it is hosted
by the NEO Research Group [http://neo.lcc.uma.es] at the University of Malaga
[http://www.uma.es], Spain.
VENUE
SS-SBSE 2017 will be hosted in the touristic city of Malaga, a well-known
destination in Southern Spain, in Andalusia [http://www.malagaturismo.com/en].
Malaga’s history spans about 2,800 years, making it one of the oldest cities in
the world. The archaeological remains and monuments from the Phoenician, Roman,
Arabic and Christian eras make the historic center of the city an "open museum",
displaying its history of more than 3,000 years.
The event will be held in the Computer Science School of the University of Malaga
[http://www.uma.es/etsi-informatica/] located in the Teatinos University Campus
[https://goo.gl/maps/8BJfzqUyxG62].
Malaga's airport (AGP) is Spain’s third largest one after Madrid and Barcelona.
More than 60 companies operate flights to and from Malaga, including both major
airlines (Iberia, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, KLM, Alitalia, ...)
and low-cost ones (Easyjet, Ryanair, AerLingus, Germanwings, ...). There are
direct flights from most major European cities and from USA. Malaga can also be
reached by regular and high velocity trains and highway. More information on
traveling options can be found in the Web page of the Summer School.
