The Faculty of Informatics of the Università della Svizzera italiana 
(USI), located in beautiful Lugano, Switzerland,
is seeking to fill an open-rank position as Professor in Software 
Engineering.

The new professor is expected to conduct world-class research in close 
collaboration with the newly founded
Software Institute (SI) of the Faculty of Informatics. The SI is 
directed by Michele Lanza and features renowned
experts in selected areas of software engineering: Gabriele Bavota, 
Matthias Hauswirth, Mehdi Jazayeri,
Cesare Pautasso, and Mauro Pezzè. We are seeking a colleague to join us 
in our efforts to strengthen our
research and teaching portfolio.

The Faculty of Informatics at USI was established in October 2004 and 
offers BSc, MSc, and PhD study programs,
with an innovative, project-based, interdisciplinary curriculum. The 
official teaching language of the
Faculty is English. The Faculty has a focus on software engineering 
research, and strong competences in many
other areas of informatics and computational science.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to teaching at all 
levels and to develop a strong research
program in software engineering, taking advantage of the top-notch 
scientific knowledge and infrastructure
of the SI, the Faculty and USI in general.

- Substantial research record commensurate with experience level
