We invite students to participate in the Systems and Software Product Line
Conference (SPLC'18). Students are especially welcome to submit to the
doctoral symposium and the challenge track, and participate as student
volunteers.

Everyone is also highly encouraged to submit to the other tracks,
especially the research and the industry track. The deadlines are very
soon: March 16 (abstract) and March 23 (paper).

***********************************

   SPLC'18 Doctoral Symposium

***********************************

The SPLC'18 Doctoral Symposium is an international forum for PhD students
working in all areas of systems and software product lines. The forum is
intended to bring together PhD students and give them the opportunity to
present and discuss their research, to get constructive feedback, and to
meet fellow researchers at a similar stage of their career. The Doctoral
Symposium welcomes PhD students who have settled on a dissertation topic
and whose PhD dissertation will benefit from the feedback received. In most
likelihood, such students will be midway through their doctoral work.

The goals of the SPLC'18 Doctoral Symposium are:

* to give PhD students a chance to showcase their research,

* to provide them with feedback from a panel of senior international
researchers,

* to facilitate interaction among the participants.

The doctoral symposium will operate in a highly interactive workshop-like
format. You can find details on the submission process on our website:

***********************************

   SPLC'18 Challenge Track

***********************************

This year, SPLC is introducing a challenge track. The idea of the challenge
track is to provide participants with a set of case studies that tackle
relevant SPL problems and challenge the state of the art. We have four
cases that participants can submit to. The challenge track is the perfect
chance to test the reliability of your tools or to introduce Master or
early PhD students to concrete research problems with clear evaluation
criteria.

The following are the four cases in this year’s SPLC challenge track:

- Interoperability of Software Product Line Variants

- Feature Location Benchmark with ArgoUML SPL

- App-Games – A Case Study for Reverse Engineering Variability from

Cloned Java Variants

- Localizing Configurations in Highly-Configurable Systems

Submissions will be in the form of 4page papers (+1 page for references).
All accepted papers will appear in the conference’s official proceedings.
