The Dynamic Analysis Group in the Faculty of Informatics at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) is looking for excellent applications to fill open PhD positions. Successful applicants will be admitted to the PhD programme of the Faculty of Informatics at USI under the supervision of Prof. Walter Binder and Dr. Andrea Rosà. Possible research topics include: parallel and concurrent programming; managed languages and runtimes; compilers; benchmarking; query processing; big-data; performance analysis and optimization. What we are looking for:
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and excellent applicants with an MSc degree (or close to completing the MSc studies) in Computer Science or closely related fields. Previous working/research experience is not required.
- Thorough background and experience in at least one mainstream programming language, particularly Java, Scala, JavaScript, Python, or C/C++.
- Excellent programming and algorithmic-thinking skills.
- An open mind and the attitude to experiment in a flexible environment.
- Good English knowledge.
