Special Track on **Context Awareness, Pervasive COmputing, and
Mobility** (CAPCOM2013)

Introduction
We are seeking research manuscripts for a Special Track on ``Context
Awareness, Pervasive Computing, and Mobility’ to be held as part of
the 2nd International Conference on Context-Aware Systems and
Applications (ICCASA 2013) in Phu Quoc, Vietnam . The emphasis is on
the theoretical and practical aspects of combining distributed sensing
with ubiquitous connectivity with their underlying context-awareness
capabilities to facilitate a smooth interaction of digital and
physical worlds. Through the proliferation of sensor platforms (e.g.,
wearables, phones), mobile sensing is rapidly becoming a part of
everyday life. This special track will provide an open forum for
researchers and industry practitioners to present and discuss their
perspectives, deeper theoretical understanding, and their practical
experiences on (a) how context awareness plays important role in
pervasive computing and mobile computing, (b) what are the specific
features of context awareness in pervasive computing, (c) how should
the techniques and analytical tools from years of context awareness
research impact future directions in designing Cyber Physical Systems
(CPS) and its applications.
Topics
We welcome research contributions that describe original and
unpublished research papers, work in progress, student papers, and
experience reports on application-specific practical systems in all
areas pertinent to context-awareness, pervasive computing, and
mobility, including the following topics:
Mobile Computing
Context Awareness in Mobile Computing Environments
Mobile pervasive applications such as mobile sensing, smart
healthcare/wellbeing, disaster management, tourism, transportation,
and enterprise solutions.
Context awareness in Smartphone platforms
Mobile software engineering and management
Context-awareness in App stores and mobile service provision.
Context Awareness:
Context-Aware Applications
A Calculus for Reasoning with Context Awareness
Context acquisition
Context aggregation
Context synchronization and expiry
Context validation and consistency
Discovering sources for context sensing
Sharing context between multiple applications
Communicating and transforming context between different platforms
Context querying
Context adaptation
Adaptation workflow management and control
Context reasoning
Context quality indicators
Organizing and storing context data
Finding solution for storing, managing, and archiving huge context data
Data management for pervasive computing
Using contextual information to discover relevant services to users
Pervasive Computing:

Methodologies and tools
Cyber Physical Systems:
Wireless sensing, intelligent monitoring, routing and efficient
delivery of services for strategic applications
Congestion avoidance in vehicular cyber physical and transportation of
critical resources
Smart living technologies
Review Process
Papers submitted to this special track will be reviewed by at least
three members of the program committee of ICCASA and the special
program committee listed below. Acceptance is based on the research
merit of the paper as brought out by its relevance to the goals of
this track, originality, and significance. Accepted papers, will
appear in the Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST) series, along with the
other accepted papers for ICCASA 2013 conference. LNICST is jointly
published by ICST and Springer and indexed in DBLP, Google Scholar,
ISI Proceedings, EI, CrossRef and Zentralblatt Math.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format via the
paper management system CONFY using the link on conference web site.
There are two options for the submissions, either a full paper or a
short paper. We decided to allow the submission of short papers in
order to accommodate research in progress, the most recent, but
incomplete research outcomes. The submissions should be formatted with
single-spaced, single-column pages using on A4 or letter pages in
Springer LNICST style format. The maximum number of pages is 10 for
full papers. Authors should submit a 4-page single-column manuscript
for short papers. The camera-ready version of an accepted full (short)
paper cannot exceed 10 (4) pages. Detailed formatting and submission
instructions are available on the conference web site. An accepted
paper will appear in Springer LNICST proceedings only if at least one
of its authors registers and attends the conference to present the
paper.
Important Dates
Submission deadline: 31 July 2013
Notification of acceptance: 31 August 2013
Camera-ready deadline: 01 October 2013
