CALL FOR PAPERS
---------------

SESoS 2013

International Workshop on Software Engineering for Systems-of-Systems
http://sesos2013.icmc.usp.br/
at ECSA/ECMFA/ECOOP 2013 - http://www.lirmm.fr/ec-montpellier-2013/
July 2, Montpellier, France

Joint workshop of 27th ECOOP, 9th ECMFA, and 7th ECSA -- Technically
co-sponsored by ACM SIGSOFT and ACM SIGPLAN.

SCOPE
-----
Since the dawn of computing, the complexity of software and the
criticality of systems reliant on software have grown at a staggering
rate. In particular, software-intensive systems have been rapidly
evolved from being stand-alone systems in the past, to being part of
networked systems in the present, to becoming Systems-of-Systems (SoS)
in the coming future.

This workshop will provide researchers and practitioners with a forum
to exchange ideas and experiences, analyze research & development
issues, discuss promising solutions, and propose inspiring visions for
the future in the field of Software Engineering (SE) for Systems-
of-Systems (SoS). The aim of this first edition is to set up a research
agenda and lay the foundations for future developments in the SE for
SoS.

TOPICS
------
The workshop focuses on theory and practice of how Software Engineering
should be explored to construct software-intensive SoS.

In this first edition, it will address open issues and emergent
approaches related to the:
- software architecture of SoS,
- model-based engineering of SoS,
- implementation of SoS.

Topics to be addressed are (but not limited to):
* SoS Analysis & Architecture
- Requirements engineering
- Architectural description
- Architectural evaluation
- Architectural evolution
* SoS Model-Based Engineering
- Modeling and simulation
- Model driven engineering
- Models at runtime
* SoS Construction and Evolution
- Techniques and technologies for SoS
- Service-orientation for SoS
- Component framework for SoS
- Evolutionary development
* Experience
- Industrial perspectives of SoS
- Successful case studies in SoS
* General Issues
- Characteristics of SoS
- Quality in SoS
- SoS development processes and project management
- Acquisition in the development of SoS
- Verification and validation of SoS
- Other supporting activities to develop SoS,
   such as documentation and configuration management
* Future perspective, challenges, and directions of SoS research
   and/or development

SUBMISSION
----------
Two types of submissions are invited:
* Regular paper (up to eight pages): It must present contributions from
both academy and industry; and
* Position paper (up to four pages): It must present new ideas,
positions, or perspectives of research.

All papers submitted to the workshop must be unpublished original work
and must not be simultaneously under review or submitted elsewhere. All
papers will be judged on the basis of their clarity, relevance,
originality, and contribution.

All submissions must be in English and follow the ACM SIG Proceedings
Style, 2-column (Templates can be downloaded at
http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates).

Submissions must be carried out in either PDF or Postscript format
through online upload to the workshop submission website at:
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sesos2013

PUBLICATION OF PAPERS
---------------------
The accepted papers will be published in the SESoS Proceedings in the
ACM Digital Library ISBN 978-1-4503-2048-1.

Authors of accepted papers are required to register for the workshop
and attend the workshop in order to have the paper included in the
proceedings.
