Let me kindly inform you that WeLL 2014 (Special Session on Well-being
Literacy through Multimedia Education for Vulnerable Populations) has an
open call for Special Session papers whose deadline is set to January 21.
We will discuss an interdisciplinary topic, focused on computer supported
health education - multimedia well-being and health literacy (WeLL
framework) that enables allied health professionals and empowers patients
and their families through just-in-time health education focused on
developing prevention and self-management skills related to health and
psychological conditions. A patient-centric value model which was designed
for emergent markets, relays on engaging the family of the patient to care
for them prior and after procedures. In order to achieve this goal we are
developing a literacy program which use gaming engine as mechanism of action
base learning to deliver content regardless of the language or dialect the
person speaks.
This special session is part of the 6th International Conference on Computer
Supported Education (CSEDU - http://www.csedu.org/), which is sponsored by
the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and
Communication (INSTICC), technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Education
Society and held in cooperation with the ACM SIGITE - ACM Special Interest
Group for Information Technology Education, the European Council for
Business Education (ECBE) and ATIEF. INSTICC is Member of the Workflow
Management Coalition (WfMC), Object Management Group (OMG), European Society
for Engineering Education (SEFI), European Association of
Technology-Enhanced Learning (EATEL) and International Society for
Engineering Education (IGIP). The Science and Technology Events (SCITEVENTS)
will be the logistic Partner and the Open Education Europa, and Internet
Multimedia Search and Mining will be the Media Partners.
CSEDU will be held in Barcelona, Portugal next year, on April 1 - 3, 2014.
Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All
