Postdoc Researcher on Data Quality and Business Processes

The KRDB Research Centre for Knowledge and Data at the Faculty of
Computer Science at Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy) is
looking for an outstanding researcher with research interests in the
areas of Databases and Business Processes. 

The position will be for 3 years and start from June 2013 or soon
thereafter.  It is part of the research project 

  "Managing Completeness of Data (MAGIC)", 

funded by the province of Bozen-Bolzano. The main goals of
the project are to
- design formalisms to describe the quality of data and the quality of
  query answers;
- investigate how business processes influence the quality of data and
  how to identify causes of a poor data quality;
- develop techniques to improve the quality of data produced by
  business processes.

We are looking for excellent candidates with the following
characteristics:
- PhD in computer science;	
- Substantial background in logic and/or mathematics;
- Track record of creating and publishing results of high quality.

The status of the postdoc will be one of research assistant professor 
with a temporary contract ("ricercatore a tempo determinato" in 
Italian). Salary will be 42.000 Euro per year gross.

The KRDB Centre is active in several research projects on business
processes, data integration, the semantic web, conceptual modeling,
and knowledge representation.

The Free University of Bozen-Bolzano is a trilingual university (English, 
German, Italian) in the autonomous province of South Tyrol in Northern
Italy, supported by the province.
