                            Internet of Things (IoT) as a Service
                             October 26-27, 2015, Rome, Italy

                                 * Important Dates *

                         15 June, 2015: Full paper submission
                         1 August, 2015: Notification to authors

* Scope *
As we are striding into the initial era of the Internet of Things (IoT),
a key question is how we make the most of IoT for all stakeholders,
platform providers, IoT application developers, end-users, large and small
organizations (such as city councils, enterprises) that wish to provide
service, and manufacturers of smart devices.

The amount of smart devices immersed in everyday life, from manufacturing to
clothing, is growing every day in terms of power, processing and network
connectivity. The sheer size and variety of contextual data that they
along with the actions they can take on their environment, is enormous.
It remains to be answered how all this potential will come to bear;
the 2nd International Conference on IoT as a Service (IoTaaS) aims to
to the discussion on the challenges posed by these trends.

The “Everything as a Service” deployment paradigm will enable the easy
of IoT based services and applications by end users, while forcing
providers of
smart objects and middleware platforms to architect their solutions
To maximize impact and adoption, the barrier-to-entry should be lowered by
making development of new applications and the ingestion and exposure of
objects as easy as possible.

The “IoT as a Service” conference, part of the IoT 360 summit, aims to bring
together researchers and practitioners interested in creating IoT-based
value-added services from academia, industry, and SMEs. IoTaaS attendees
present novel ideas, exchange points of view, and foster collaborations.
Papers expressing the point of view of middleware and platform providers,
smart object providers, application developers, and researchers are
particularly welcome.

Accepted papers will be published online in the conference proceedings
web site.
Selected papers will be considered for publication in the EAI
Transactions on
Cloud Systems.

* Topics of interest *
IoTaaS is seeking original high-quality research and industrial papers
on the
confluence of IoT and advanced delivery models. Topics of interest to the
conference include but are not limited to:
    - Smart objects as a service
    - IoT marketplace – for offering IoT based applications and services
    - API economy – for easier and tighter integration
    - Semantic Web technologies for IoT: registry, storage
    - IoT delivery platforms – existing and emerging platform and
      for exposing and interacting with IoT
    - Federated IoT support
    - Non Functional Requirements (NFR) for IoT – security, scalability,
      responsiveness and more
    - Standardization – standard areas needed
    - Business models
    - IoT DevOps
    - IoT context based analytics
    - IoT application deployment success stories
    - Mobile First IoT: mobile backend as a services (MBaaS) and smartphone
      as data prosumers

* Call for Posters *
Authors who wish to present their work as posters are required to submit a
one-page PDF with a title and an abstract of their work (not the poster
Submissions may represent early work that is not yet ready for
submission to a
refereed conference or journal, or describe a technical (non-marketing)
Authors of accepted posters are expected to prepare and present their

* Call for Demos *
Technology demos are encouraged. Authors who wish to present a technology
prototype are required to submit a one-page PDF with a title and a
of their work. Submissions should preferably represent technological
in the making. Submitters of accepted demos are expected to present the demo
at the conference.

* Important Dates *
    - Paper submission deadline: 15 June 2015
    - Author notification and Registration opens: 1 August 2015
    - Camera-ready deadline: 15 September 2015
    - Conference dates: 26-27 October 2015

* Submission Information *
IoTaaS solicits full papers (8 pages), short papers (4 pages), and work in
progress papers (4 pages). All submissions must be formatted using the
LNICST Authors' Kit (details on http://iotaas.org/2015/show/authors-kit) and
submitted via the EAI Confy system. All submitted papers will be reviewed by
the Technical Program Committee. Accepted papers will be published
online at the
conference web site. All papers must be original, unpublished, and not
for publication elsewhere. Submission implies that at least one author will
register and attend the conference if the paper is accepted.
